The growth of use of public clouds by enterprises is old news. Every survey on the matter shows that almost all enterprises are moving at least some applications from the data centre to the cloud, and the trend has been ever upwards.  However, 2020 has seen a total disruption to these trend lines. Many organizations have been forced to jump into the public cloud deeper and further than they anticipated due to COVID and the need to protect their remote workforce.  In too many cases the rush to deal with the crisis has meant cutting corners and crossing your fingers. This has been especially true in the area of cybersecurity. Which makes it even more of an imperative to improve the security posture of assets and applications in the cloud AND have a single security posture across all environments: cloud and on-premises.
